Jim Williamson is a life long resident of Santa Rosa County. He and his wife, Paulette, reside in Pace at 4351 Berryhill Road and are members of Immanuel Baptist Church. They have five sons, five daughters-in-law and are proud grandparents of nine grandchildren (Reid, Kennady, Annie, Ty, Ben, Noah, Cooper, Adan, and Brooks).

After graduating from Milton High School in 1964, Williamson played four years of professional baseball in the St. Louis Cardinal organization. Throughout the years, he has been active in youth athletics as a parent, coach and a sponsor.

Williamson is a state certified electrical contractor. He has owned and operated his local business, Williamson Electrical Co., Inc. since 1976. Prior to being elected county commissioner, Jim was a member of the Milton City Council from 1977 to 1985.

Commissioner Williamson was first elected to the Board of County Commissioners in 1996 and re-elected without opposition in 2000. He was honored by the SRC Chamber of Commerce as the Community Leader of the Year in 2000. In 2001, he was the recipient of the God in Government award. Williamson was, once again, elected by the citizens of Santa Rosa County in 2008 as commissioner for District 1. He served as the 2011-2012 Chairman of the Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners.
