April 18, 2000
The Santa Rosa County Stormwater Task Force met on the above date with the following members present: Chairman Geoffrey Maddux, Alan Miller, Frances Dunham, John Harper, Jack Sanborn, and Debbie Dawsey. Also present was Vernon Compton, a new member appointed to the board by Commissioner Mapoles. Hunter Walker, County Administrator and Roger Blaylock, County Engineer, were also present. Dr. Enid Sisskin, Steve Duncan and Mark Cotton were absent. Chairman Maddux called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Minutes from the January 18, 2000, February 22, 2000, and March 22, 2000 meeting were approved by unanimous vote.
Cliff Street, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, introduced himself and explained the focuses related to his job. Street informed the board of current FDEP concerns. Street suggested possible goals consisting of utility fees, a watershed project, and increase treatment requirements. Discussion took place between board members and Street.
Mike Lewis, Environmental Protection Agency, introduced himself and explained the focuses related to his job. Lewis informed the board of current EPA concerns. Lewis passed out handouts as informational guides to the board. Discussion took place between board members and Lewis.
Discussion took place between board members as to what the BCC’s expectations are, and having a facilitator attend future meetings.
The board agreed to have someone from a stormwater utility to speak at the next meeting on May 23, 2000.
As previously mentioned, the next meeting will be held May 23, 2000 at 5: 00 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 7:04 p.m.
