The minutes of the January 25, 2006, meeting were approved with one clarification. The board discussed the value of non-contributing structures being reviewed by them. Dr. D’Asaro clarified his meaning to be there is no LDC language indicators other than having to pull a permit to trigger having to come in front of the board. Since no permit is needed for changing shutters or painting, the homeowner isn’t aware of the need to put in an application for the board to review.
The first item on the agenda was Joshua Wilks, 2006-BHAAB-003, requesting:
Mr. Wilks represented himself. The board discussed the wooden picket fence; Mr. Wilks explained it would be a 1900’s style fence. Mr. Johnson motioned for approval and Mr. Bailly seconded the motion. The motion passed 3 – 0.
The second item on the agenda was Mr. Johnny C. Crawford, Sr., with Crawford-McBride Development, LLC. Mr. Crawford made a presentation to the board concerning affordable modular housing that they are proposing for several lots in Bagdad. Mr. Crawford went over the basics of modular housing and showed a few designs that they have used in the past. The board had several questions for Mr. Crawford concerning the construction process. Mr. Crawford said he would make a CD (a virtual tour) showing the construction process and send it to staff. The board had several questions for Mr. Crawford questioning why they chose the Bagdad area for these type of homes and what other districts have they built in. Mr. Crawford said he would provide that information prior to the next meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 11:00 a.m.
