PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING

Administrative Complex Board Meeting Room
The November-December meeting of the Santa Rosa County Parks and Recreation Committee was held at the Administrative Complex beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2006. The following members were present representing the sports associations and host organizations: Larry Dixon, Navarre Youth Sports Association, Navarre Sports Complex/Navarre Football-Soccer Park/Holley Ball Field; Tom Dorsey and Lillian Ewens, Tiger Point Recreational Park; and Jason Dingler, East Milton Recreational Park.
Absent were representatives fromPace Athletic and Recreation Association, Futbol Club of Santa Rosa, Inc., Chumuckla Community Center and Park, Fidelis Community Center and Park, Benny Russell Park, and Swenson Park.
Also present were the Administrative Services/Parks Operations Manager, Tammy Simmons, and County Administrator, Hunter Walker.
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.
The Administrative Services Manager welcomed all.
Minutes from the October 25, 2006 meeting were approved as written.
The purpose of the meeting was to hear appeals from volunteers concerning background screening.
Mark Anthony Williams, PARA, he stated his case, the Committee approved unanimous for him to volunteer.
Roger McCombs, Tiger Point Park, Mr. McCombs was absent; however, the committee reviewed his report and Ms. Ewens with the Tiger Point
Board, stated that Mr. McCombs has proven to be a good volunteer, the Committee approved unanimous for him to volunteer.
Discussion took place on the need for practice fields.
Discussion took place on the growth of adult sports.
Simmons announced that the next scheduled meeting is January 24, 2007, at 5:30 p.m. and that if no items come up before this time, the members will be notified if
