Contractor Licensing

The purpose of the Licensing Division is to ensure that contractors are properly licensed and registered for specific trades.

All Competency Card holders Active and Inactive must renew Biennially
Biennial renewals expire on September 30 of every odd year. All active and Inactive Santa Rosa County Competency Card holders must renew by October 1; after that date, Competency Cards not renewed are subject to late fees.

State Certified Contractors are not issued a Competency Card but are required to register their license in Santa Rosa County to contract work.

Notice:
The Building Official has provided an extra month for your competency card renewal. You now have until October 31, 2011.

Permission granted by the licensed qualifier to allow certain persons to pull permits.

Permission for specified personel to use funds from a escrow account.

Request to remove a contractor or sub contractor from a specific job.

Agreement required by all new licensees desiring to either obtain a certificate of competency or register their State Certified license with Santa Rosa County.

Application to schedule to take an exam for contractor licensing.

Request for a refund to an escrow account.
