Community Warning Systems

Santa Rosa County utilizes all measures possible to provide warnings regarding weather and emergencies to our citizens. Become familiar with the type warning systems currently in place:

Alert Santa Rosa
Alert Santa Rosa mass notification system allows staff at the Santa Rosa County Emergency Operations Center to provide residents with timely alerts. Residents sign up by entering contact information and subscribing to notifications of interest. The information provided is protected and will not be used for any other purpose.Sign up today to receive alerts.

Emergency Alert System (EAS)
The Alarm utilized by radio and TV stations, is a conduit for passing on life-saving weather information and emergency messages.

Media Releases
Santa Rosa County, through the public information officer, provides all information regarding safety of life and property to all media outlets that covers news in Santa Rosa County. Sign up today to receive Santa Rosa County releases.

Mediacom
Providing Santa Rosa County with the opportunity to access regular cable broadcasts and provide emergency messages on channel 27.

Weather Channel
The Weather Channel may display Santa Rosa County emergency weather related information on their text crawl, which is displayed at the bottom of the television screen.

Taminco/Air Products Sirens
Sirens are placed strategically throughout the Pace area in order to provide emergency alerts from the Taminco/Air Product Plant. These sirens may be used for hazardous material release or weather related incidents. Sirens are tested on the first Sunday of each month at 2:15 p.m.

NOAA Weather Radio
Emergency Management highly recommends the purchase of a NOAA Weather Radio. This radio will provide quick alerts for emergency situations such as tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and other weather related incidents that could produce quickly. This is a low cost item that could save your life!
