Meet Your Homeowner Horticulture Agent

Dan Mullins is the Santa Rosa County Extension Commercial Horticulture Agent. His major focus areas are fruit, vegetable, nursery production and marketing; training and testing for restricted pesticide users and
4-H Youth programs.

Dan writes a weekly gardening column which is published in five newspapers and on two web sites with a readership of 250,000. Other efforts include news letters, workshops, seminars, field visits, plant problem diagnosis and field demonstrations.

Dan received his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Mississippi State University . He was hired as the first Extension Horticulture Agent in West Florida – serving In Escambia County from 1970 until 1977. He has been employed with the Santa Rosa County Extension Service since 1989.
