How Do I Support My Library?


Friends of the Library Groups

Each community library has a “Friends of the Library” organization that supports their local library by advocating for library services, increased funding, and improved and expanded facilities.  They serve as library volunteers and operate book sales and other fund-raising events to assist libraries with special projects beyond the scope of the county budget.  If you would like to join a Friends group, contacts are listed here:

  • Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library: Contact: Bob Menzer, 932-5166. A Book Sale is operated in the library Monday-Friday, 10:30-4:00.  Monthly meetings are held each month on the second Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Gulf Breeze Library.

  • Friends of the Jay Library: Currently Inactive 

  • Friends of the Milton Library: Contact: Peggy Toifel
    Go to the Milton Library or link to the Friends' new website to learn about the new fund raising effort for a new Milton Library Location and Building. The Friends of the Milton Library has an ongoing used book sale in the library to support their fund raising efforts. Monthly business meetings are held each month on the second Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Milton Library and the annual meeting is held in December.

  • Friends of the Navarre Library: Patt Stewart, 932-0715, ext 103.
    Wednesday, May 29, 2008 - 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Speaker Series: Lore, Legends, and Learning. On the eve of hurricane season, Hurricane hunter John Loughrey will share his adventures.

    Saturday. June 14, 2008 - 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Buy one, get one free at the Friends of the Navarre Library Used Book Sale, E. H. Pullum Senior Center across from the Navarre Library. Preview sale Friday, June 13th, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. For FONL members only - new members can join at the door.

    A Book Sale is operated in the library Monday-Friday, 10:00-4:00.  Monthly meetings are held each month on the second Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Navarre Library.

  • Friends of the Pace Library: Contact: Jennifer Richardson
    A Book Sale is operated in the library Monday-Friday, during library hours.  Board Meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every other month beginning January 2008 at the Pace Library. A general membership meeting is held in March, TBA.
