How Do I Support My Library?


Friends of the Library Groups

Each community library has a “Friends of the Library” organization that supports their local library by advocating for library services, increased funding, and improved and expanded facilities.  They serve as library volunteers and operate book sales and other fund-raising events to assist libraries with special projects beyond the scope of the county budget.  If you would like to join a Friends group, contacts are listed here:

  • Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library: Contact: Bob Menzer, 932-5166.
    A Book Sale is operated in the library Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 10:30-4:00 and Thursday 10:30-1:00. Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Gulf Breeze Library and the annual meeting is held in January.

  • Friends of the Jay Library: Currently Inactive 

  • Friends of the Milton Library: Contact: Bill DuBois
    A Book Sale is operated in the library Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 10 - 3; and Friday and Saturday from 9 – 1. Board meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. at the Milton Library and the annual meeting is held in December.   • Friends of the Navarre Library: Patt Stewart, 932-0715, ext 103.
    A Book Sale is operated in the library Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 10:00-4:00 and Thursday 10:00-1:00. Board meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Navarre Library and the annual meeting is held in October. The Friends of the Navarre Library group sponsors a monthly program “Lores, Legends, and Learning” featuring topics of interest to the community.  Programs are held each third Wednesday at 5:30 at the Navarre Library.  Visit the Friends of the Navarre Library Website for additional information.

    Book Sale Event at the Navarre Library  –
    Wednesday, October 21, 10:00-4:00; Thursday, October 22, 6:00-8:00 (members only preview),
    Friday-Saturday, October 23-24, 8:00-1:00

  • Friends of the Pace Library: Contact: Jennifer Richardson
    A Book Sale is operated in the library during library hours. Board Meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every other month beginning January 2009 at the Pace Library and a general membership meeting is held in March. Visit the Friends of the Pace Library Website for additional information.
