Bands on the Blackwater

Bands on the Blackwater is a free outdoor concert series held Friday nights from 7-9 p.m. in downtown Milton, Florida. Pull up you boat or bring a lawn chair and relax while listening to great music.       

Holland Farms Pumpkin Patch & Maze

Enjoy a Farm hayride that will take you around the farm and to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin of your choice. Also available are many activities including corn box, horse and regular swings, spider web, pirate ship, zip lines, petal tractors on race track, hill slides, knocker balls, rat racers, sand box and an eight acre corn maze with kiddie maze. Sonshine Family Farms Corn Mazes and Mini Golf

We have two mazes in one with games to play inside the mazes. Playground area with swings, slides, kiddie train ride, zip line, horse and pony rides, tether ball courts, 9 hole mini golf course, corn toss boards, picnic tables under shade trees and a concession stand with refreshments and food. Our hayrides take you for a ride around the farm and the pond. The fish pond will be open for fishing. Grab your pole and come make some memories with your family. (Catfish and Bream). See website for details. Oct. 28 will be our “Monster Maze” from 8pm until midnight. There will be a live band, bonfire (weather permitting), costume contest, candy and “Monsters” in the maze.

Sweet Season Farms Corn Maze and Fall Fun Festival

The event gives families the opportunity to enjoy a day on a working Santa Rosa County farm. Visitors can spend time navigating their way through an eight-acre corn maze, playing on 20 types of fun farm-themed equipment including a playground, hayrides, cow train rides, farm animals, corn popper jumping pillow and more. The farm is available for group bookings, field trips and other special events. The “whole cob” admission includes unlimited access to all attractions: corn maze, children’s playground, farm games, picnic area and hay bale maze and is $10.50 ($5 fee for pony rides, pumpkins priced per size.) Flashlight maze (Friday nights) is $10.50.

Holley Hill Pottery and Art Studio Kiln Openings

Open five weekends on the tour! The Gulf Coast Kiln Walk Society has the largest wood fueled anagama kiln and the only reconstructed wood fueled kiln from the 1940s in the state. Holley Hill Pottery has been making pottery in Santa Rosa County for over 35 years using local clays capturing the lifestyle, scenery and sea life of the Gulf Coast.

Coldwater Gardens Tours

Take a farm tour of shiitake mushrooms, aquaponics, hydroponics, raise bed gardening, vermiculture, chickens and honey bees. Tours last about an hour, creek access included. Coldwater Gardens agriculture area spans five acres with three greenhouses and two high tunnels. There are opportunities for overnight cottage rentals, glamping, and primitive camping on the property.

Munson Community Heritage Festival

One of the most popular events on the tour held at Krul Lake in the Munson, FL. Visitors learn about old-time ways through hands-on demonstrations. There is a Civil War re-enactment camp, Native American displays, wood carving, basket weaving, making corn-shuck dolls, dulcimer making, shoe cobbling, cross-cut sawing, old-time circular sawmill operation, turpentining, displays by local museums and more.

Monarch Madness Butterfly Festival
Oct. 20-21

This educational event highlights the monarch butterfly migration through northwest Florida. Watch as hundreds of monarch butterflies are released into the wild for their annual migration to Mexico.

Annual Fenner Ride
Oct. 21

5629 Byrom St., Milton, FL | 7:30 a.m. for those ride 100 miles only | 8 a.m. for all others
The ride starts at the Milton Community Center. This is the popular annual distance cycling event known as the “Fenner Ride.” Cost: $45. Distance rides: 18, 40, 62 and 100 miles. Day of registration begins at 7 a.m. and the ride is through the Blackwater State Forest. A portion of the ride will be on the Blackwater State Heritage Trail. The 100, 62 and 40-mile routes include some challenging hills, while the 18 mile route is entirely on the rails to trails. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northwest Florida.

Boo at the Zoo – Trick or Treat Trail

Children are invited to don their costumes and enjoy the zoo decked out for the Halloween holiday in a not-so-scary environment. The event features a Halloween hay maze, monster foam play party, animal encounters and face painting. A trick or treat trail features stations for children to enjoy toys, treats and treasures. Businesses are encouraged to help sponsor the stations.  

Navarre Fishing Rodeo
Oct. 21 – 22

Fish from the shore, a boat, kayak or from the pier - you just can't "fish" from the seafood market! Prizes will be awarded in all divisions. Weigh-in is at Juana's on Navarre Beach Causeway and scales close promptly at 4 p.m. on both days. Junior anglers twelve and under can compete in the junior division for free. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Navarre Beach Marine Park including the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center, the Navarre Beach Marine Sanctuary and the Marine Science Station. It will also benefit Heroes on the Water and Take a Kid Fishing. Captain's bags will have goodies.

This free kid’s fishing pole giveaway and clinic is staged at Navarre Beach Pier. There will be stations where children will learn about conservation, bait, fish and have instructions on how to fish. At the end, the children will receive a rod and reel.  The event includes free bait and fishing instruction.
