August 22, 2000
The Santa Rosa County Stormwater Task Force met on the above date with the following members present: Chairman Geoffrey Maddux, John Harper, Steve Duncan, Debbie Dawsey, Frances Dunham, Enid Sisskin, Alan Miller and Jack Sanborn. Hunter Walker, County Administrator, Roger Blaylock, County Engineer, and Kristen Andersen, Planning and Zoning Director, were also present. Mark Cotton and Vernon Compton were absent. Chairman Maddux called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Harper moved approval of July 25, 2000 minutes, which was seconded by Duncan and carried by unanimous vote.
Eric Livingston, Bureau of Watershed Management, Florida Department of Environmental Protection was present and gave a presentation and slide show. See attached. Discussion took place between board members and Livingston. Buddy Parrish, county resident, was present and expressed concerns and ideas as to stormwater run-off. Discussion took place among board members. Dawsey moved for a preliminary recommendation through Blaylock to the BCC that the county go forward with financial arrangements for a master drainage plan, which was seconded by Sanborn and carried by unanimous vote.
Walker informed the board of stormwater utility web sites, which were provided by Lee Marchman of the Water Management Bureau. See attached.
The board discussed that the future agendas include: September 12, 2000, Vernon Compton, Mike Donahoe, and a local farmer. And that the September 26, 2000 meeting include Mr. Spitzer. And for the last meeting(s) to be held in October, Roger Blaylock, County Engineer, and Kristen Andersen, Planning and Zoning Director.
As previously mentioned, the next meeting withh be September 12, 2000 at 5:00 p.m. and September 26, 2000 at 5:00 p.m.
