MINUTES NOT VERBATIM

The special scheduled meeting of the Santa Rosa County Fire Protection Board of Appeals was held July 20, 2006, at 4:00 p.m. in the Media Room of the Santa Rosa County Building Inspection Department located at 6051 Old Bagdad Highway, Suite 202, Milton, Florida.  Board members in attendance were Paul Hazucha, Art O’Reilly and Les Slocum.

Building Inspection Department Staff in attendance were Tim Tolbert, Building Official and Sabrina Brown, Fire Safety Secretary.

The Chairman and Vice Chairman were not in attendance so; Slocum made a motion to elect Hazucha as the temporary chairman for this meeting.

Paul Hazucha, temporary Chairman, called the meeting to order at 4:05 pm.

Agenda Approval:
O’Reilly made a motion to approve the agenda with a second from Slocum. Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes:
Slocum made a motion to accept the minutes from the June 8, 2006, meeting with a second by O’Reilly. Motion carried.

Next Meeting:
The next scheduled meeting is to be held on Thursday, August 10, 2006, at 4:00 p.m.

Old Business:
Brown’s Hauling 06-002
The Board reviewed the previous meeting minutes regarding the case.
Hazucha then read the letter received from the East Milton Fire Chief, Bill Thompson. Discussion ensued regarding the letter that was provided to the Board regarding the fire epartments ability to fight a fire at said location. The distance of the hydrant was a concern to the members and the ability to efficiently fight a fire at the address. O’Reillymade a motion to disapprove the variance request.  Motion second by Slocum. Motion carried.

At: 4:21 O’Reilly made a motion to adjourn the meeting with a second by Slocum. Motion carried.
