The following materials can be collected and processed. We appreciate your interest in recycling!

Accepted Materials to be Recycled

Glass:

• Recyclable - Only jars and bottles those are clear, green or brown.
• Not Recyclable - Plate Glass, Auto Glass or Stained Glass

Metal:

• Recyclable - Steel, Tin Cans and Aluminum Cans
• Not Recyclable - Aluminum Foil, Sheet Metal

Plastic Containers:

You can locate the number in the middle of the recycling symbol.


Please rinse out milk, juice, and soda containers. It is helpful, but not required to remove the lids on drink containers, such as soda bottles.

• Recyclable -#1 through #5 Plastic Containers - the number will be inside the recycling symbol. We also accept plastic shopping bags - please tie them in a knot so they do not blow out of the container while in transport.
• Not Recyclable - 5 Gallon Buckets/Pails, Motor Oil Containers, Styrofoam, commercial water bottles (Culligan, Abita Springs, etc.).

Paper:

Any paper that is not wax or plastic covered or contaminated by food.

• Recyclable – Newspaper, Computer Paper, Phone Books, Magazines, Mail Envelopes (plastic mail windows are ok), and Book Pages (helpful to remove the cover but not required).
• Not Recyclable – Pizza Boxes (food Contaminated)

Cardboard: (box glue is ok) please do not recycle Styrofoam packaging.

It is important to keep cardboard clean and dry. To help save space in the bins it is very helpful to flatten the boxes.

Thank you, for disposing of the proper items in the recycle bins. As you know when people pile trash at the sites on a regular bases it results in the bins being removed. Please spread the word to dispose of items properly. Thanks again for recycling.
