Road & Bridge Closures

Closure Information

The listed bridges and any other county maintained bridges that are flooded, should not be crossed until public works inspections have been completed, after the water recedes. Motorist should always avoid crossing flooded streets and should never attempt to cross flooded bridges.

Current Road Closures

Date: 05/14/2013
	Canal Street	Closed
	City of Milton is closing Canal Street south of Highway 90 for roadway re-construction beginning May 15th, 2013. The project is expected to last about 6 weeks.

	San Blas Street	Closed
	Drainage work will close San Blas Street, east of Avalon Boulevard (State Road 281), in Milton beginning Thursday, May 2. All traffic will be rerouted to Del Monte Street or San Pablo Street. The temporary closure will remain in for the next two to three weeks.

	Santa Monica Street	Closed
	Beginning on Wednesday, October 10^th, Santa Monica Street west of Avalon Boulevard to east of N 30^th Avenue will be closed for roadway construction. All traffic will be rerouted to Del Monte Street.

	Navarre Beach Causeway	Open with Hazards
	Maintenance and repairs to the Navarre Beach Bridge and the sound relief bridge will begin on Monday, Oct. 15. Closure of the bridge is not anticipated; however motorist, bicyclists and pedestrians should anticipate temporary lane closures and night work. Construction is weather dependant and is anticipated to take 180 days.

	San Juan Street	Closed
	San Juan Street in closed as part on the construction on Avalon Boulevard by the State Road Dept. Detour is Santa Monica Street than North 30th Avenue

	Red Oak Drive	Closed
	Silver Maple Drive and Red Oak Drive, in the East Milton area, are closed until further notice. These are privately owned roads, and the closures will prevent vehicular access between Persimmon Hollow Road and South Airport Road.

	State Road 89	Open with Hazards
	Florida Department of Transportation will began road improvements on State Road 89 from Highway 178 to Jay City Limits around end of May 2012. The project will take about 8 months. The improvements include resurfacing, drainage, and construction of paved shoulders. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

	Highway 90	Open with Hazards
	Traffic on U.S. 90 from west of Parkmore Plaza Drive to east of Gainer Avenue in Milton will be shifted to the outside lanes as crews remove and replace traffic separators and perform drainage and roadway widening operations in the median. The temporary shift is anticipated to be in place about two months as crews complete improvements. This work is associated with the Avalon Boulevard multilane project from Commerce Road to U.S. 90 scheduled for completion fall 2012.

	Navarre Beach Bridge	Open with Hazards
	One lane of the Navarre Beach Bridge will be closed during daylight hours until May 10th. The closure is for the safety of the construction crews that are working on the bridge.
