Thank you for visiting the Navarre Town Center Plan website. We hope this site will provide you with information on the project, updates on its progress and keep you involved in planning the future of your community. Here you will find links to meeting dates, times & locations as well as agendas and meeting summaries. We invite you to browse this site on a regular basis as the project unfolds.
Background:

The project was initiated by Commissioner Gordon Goodin and is supported by findings of the South End Tomorrow Committee. Navarre is growing at a rapid pace; this project is a response to growth demands in the community.

Purpose:

Develop a Vision for the Future of Navarre
  • Determine how and where growth and development can/should occur
  • Establish Guidelines for Development such as Overlay Districts
  • Recommend Priorities and Financing Alternatives

Scope of the Project:

County staff, in consultation with Commissioner Goodin , has identified four focus areas for the project:

  • Land Use
  • Infrastructure
  • Architectural Guidelines
  • Landscaping Guidelines

Four working groups have been established to study these areas and develop recommendations for the Navarre area. These groups will work intensely over the next two months to develop these recommendations. A steering committee, comprised of the chairs of the working groups, will meet to synthesize and finalize the plan to forward to the County Commission.

Public Participation:

This project is citizen centered and community driven. It is imperative that the residents of Navarre are actively involved in the development of this plan because it will shape how Navarre develops, what kind of community it becomes and how Navarre looks in 25 years. Active public participation ensures:
  • The plan more accurately reflects your needs & concerns
  • That you have ownership in the plan & a vested interest in its implementation
  • That the plan cannot be ignored
