Transportation planning is about providing a safe, cost effective, and functional transportation system for all residents of and visitors to Santa Rosa County that appropriately balances access and mobility needs.

Functions

It is the function of Transportation Planning to:

  • Provide public information and assistance
  • Administer and implement the comprehensive plan
  • Be responsible for special projects
  • Provide representation on Regional Transportation Planning Organizations
  • Coordinate with the Florida Department of Transportation on transportation related decisions
  • Administer and implement transportation grants

The Florida Transportation Plan (FTP) is the single overarching plan guiding Florida’s transportation future. Updated every five years, the FTP is a collaborative effort of state, regional, and local transportation partners in the public and private sectors.
