The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is designed to bring together a group of dedicated and qualified medical professionals in the event of a disaster. The MRC was formed in 2002 after President George W Bush's 2002 State of the Union Address, in which he asked all Americans to volunteer in support of their country. Santa Rosa's MRC was formed on November 15, 2006 and officially recognized by the Office of the Surgeon General.
