Road Issues

Santa Rosa County Public Works Clearing a Drainage Channel

Santa Rosa County Public Works department provides a host of services on all county-maintained roadways for the betterment of our citizens.  If you have concerns regarding pavement conditions, culvert repairs, drainage, or other needs, please complete and submit our Citizen Work Request Form, and we will be happy to investigate any concerns on your behalf.

To ensure the road in question is county-maintained, please feel free to research any road on our Street-Maintainer Application.  If the road is maintained by another agency, contact information for frequently used agencies may be found on Public Works page.

No Dumping

Dumping is a violation of Santa Rosa County Ordinance 06-26. Do not dump or throw anything into the ditches, streams, creeks, or rivers. Even grass clippings and branches can accumulate and plug channels, creeks, and streams. A blocked channel cannot carry water, and, when it rains, the water has to go somewhere. Every piece of trash contributes to flooding.

Maintain Ditch Banks

If your property is next to a ditch or stream, please do your part and keep the banks clear of brush and debris. Santa Rosa County Public Works may help remove major blockages such as debris in ditches on all county-maintained roadways, parcels, and easement.  Simply complete and submit our Citizen Work Request Form.

Submit a Work Order

Complete and submit our Citizen Work Request Form, and, again, Public Works will be happy to investigate any concerns on your behalf.
