Santa Rosa County Animal Services' mission is to provide humane shelter and care for the approximately 3,500 lost, displaced and victimized animals who enter our doors every year. Our services protect animals and educate the community through outreach, intervention and enforcement.
We are dedicated to providing a positive outcome for all of the animals in our care. Since 2019, we have changed our approach to animal sheltering to better serve our community and pets. Through this transformation, our shelter has earned no-kill shelter status for several months in 2020 and are continuing to promote positive change.
Your fur-ever friend is waiting for you at Santa Rosa Animal Services! We are proud to help families adopt through our inclusive adoption program.

Hundreds of animals are given second changes and cared for by our loving foster parents.
We practice humane population management of community cats through trap-neuter-return (TNR).
We provide the dogs in our care with daily exercise and interaction through dog play groups.
Dedicated volunteers support our mission and lifesaving efforts.
Doggy Day Out
Members of the community can take shelter dogs for field trips. Outings can last one hour to all weekend and can include a trip to the beach, a hike or even a meal at a pet-friendly restaurant.
There is no place like home, and we want to provide every opportunity to help lost pets return home.
