[ARCHIVED] Santa Rosa Citizen Corps to host ?Basic CERT Training

Basic CERT Training

The Santa Rosa Citizen Corps is hosting a Basic Community Emergency Respons Team (CERT) Class beginning Fri., Sept. 29, at 6 p.m. The free class will be held at the Santa Rosa County Emergency Operations Center, 4499 Pine Forest Road in Milton. Participants who complete the class will receive a free basic supplies kit. Class space is limited and online registration is required. Interested community members can register online.

CERT training provides volunteers with basic skills to respond in a disaster, such as fighting small fires, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. The Santa Rosa County CERT also supports the community by providing first aid at events, traffic direction for races, firefighter rehabilitation, and more. Whether community members are looking to be better prepared for a disaster or want to give back to the community, the Basic CERT class will provide a foundation of skills.
