[ARCHIVED] Santa Rosa County Animal Services to hold Star Wars themed adopt-a-thon

May the fur be with you! Join Santa Rosa County Animal Services, 4451 Pine Forest Road in Milton, for a Star Wars themed adopt-a-thon, Sat., May 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dress in your best space-themed costume and find your new furever friend! 

Adoption fees at the event will be $30 for pets which include spay and neuter services. Bring proof of rabies certificates for all animals in household. 

  • Hang out with Blue Wahoo’s mascot, Kazoo, and surprise Star Wars characters!
  • Enter you and your pet in a contest. Contests begin at 11 a.m:
  • Pet owner look alike
  • Best costume (people and/or pets)
  • Best Use of the Force (pet tricks)
  • Enjoy children’s crafts and games to win prizes.
  • A silent auction will benefit the Partners for Pets program which provide medical treatments for shelter animals. Silent auction bidding ends at 2 p.m. Winners announced immediately after.
  • Meet first responders and explore a firetruck from Skyline Fire Rescue District and play with Sparky the Firedog from Harold Volunteer Fire District.
  • Pet-themed novelty items as well as food and snow cones will be available for purchase.
  • Pet photos also available during the event.
