[ARCHIVED] Commissioner Bob Cole selected for leadership positions with National Association of Counties

District 2 Commissioner Bob Cole

The National Association of Counties (NACo) appointed Santa Rosa County Commissioner Bob Cole, District 2, to serve a second term as vice chair of the Arts and Culture Commission and a third term as subcommittee vice chair of the Environment, Energy and Land Use Steering Committee. Cole has been a member of NACo for the past eight years and this is his fifth year to be chosen for a leadership position. In this national position, the District 2 commissioner will stay updated on developments from Capitol Hill and collaborate on county issues with colleagues across the nation.

The NACo Arts and Culture Commission demonstrates how the arts can be used by county officials to promote economic development and provide solutions to many of the challenges that they face, through workshop sessions, field trips and special publications. The NACo Environment, Energy and Land Use Steering Committee is responsible for all matters pertaining to air, water, energy, and land use, including water resources/management, stormwater, pesticides, air quality standards, solid, hazardous, and nuclear waste handling, transport, and disposal, national energy policy, renewable/alternative energy, alternative fuel vehicles, energy facility siting, electricity utility restructuring, pipeline safety, oil spills, superfund/brownfields, eminent domain, land use, coastal management, oceans, parks and recreation. For more information, visit www.NACo.org.
