The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners honored the country’s veterans at last week’s regular meeting with a video memorial.
“Although we won’t be gathering together as a group to honor our nation’s veterans, on Memorial Day we will still remember America’s heroes of the past and freedom’s defenders of the future,” said Commission Chairman Don Salter, District 3. “Fallen, but never forgotten.”
Santa Rosa County’s Veterans Memorial Park was dedicated on November 11, 2004 to the honor, memory and respect of the sacrifices and contributions that veterans have made for mankind. Those who would like to support the Veteran’s Plaza Park may do so by purchasing a veteran or sponsor brick. The park is available for virtual tour and bricks may also be searched online.
