Boat Ramps

  • The following boat ramps have reopened:

FEMA Individual Assistance

  • The FEMA mobile registration intake center located at Pensacola State College South Santa Rosa Center, 5075 Gulf Breeze Pkwy. in Gulf Breeze, will be closed Sat., Oct. 10 due to inclement weather. The center will reopen on Sun., Oct. 11 and will be open daily from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. until further notice.
  • It is not necessary to visit a center to register with FEMA. Disaster survivors with uninsured losses can also apply by:
    • Visiting
    • Downloading the FEMA App; or by
    • Calling 1-800-621-3362 (TTY# 1-800-462-7585). Multilingual operators are available. The toll-free numbers are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time, seven days a week. Those who use a relay service such as a videophone, InnoCaption or CapTel should provide FEMA with their specific phone number assigned to that service.
  • The following information is necessary when you register:
    • Address of the damaged dwelling where the damage occurred (pre-disaster
    • Current mailing address
    • Current telephone number
    • Insurance information
    • Total household annual income
    • Routing and account number for checking or savings account (this allows FEMA to directly transfer disaster assistance funds into a bank account)
    • A description of disaster-caused damage and losses
  • Assistance is also available for renters, including students (see ways to apply above). Federal grants can help pay for temporary housing. The initial rental grant is for a 60-day period and can be reviewed for further assistance. The registration deadline is Dec. 1, 2020. 
  • Renters may also qualify for a grant under FEMA’s Other Needs Assistance program for essential personal property and other disaster-related expenses. These may include:
    • Replacement or repair of necessary personal property, such as furniture, appliances, clothing, textbooks or school supplies
    • Replacement or repair of tools and other job-related equipment required by the self-employed
    • Primary vehicles
    • Medical and dental bills
  • The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) offers low-interest disaster loans to help Florida renters repair or replace disaster-damaged personal property, including automobiles. Renters may be eligible for up to $40,000, depending on their losses. The application deadline is Dec. 1, 2020.

  • Hurricane Sally left an estimated 900,000 cubic yards of vegetative debris to collect. With 5,000 roads in the county, this is expected to take 90 days. As of Thurs., Oct. 8, 133,629.9 cubic yards has been collected.
  • Residents who do not want to wait for the contractor to pick up their vegetative debris can take it to the Central Landfill, 6337 Da Lisa Rd. in Milton, at no cost Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Crews have been collecting debris throughout the county sunup to sundown, seven days a week since Sept. 24.
  • It is expected to take a total of five weeks to finish the first pass and there will be multiple passes. Residents will be notified before the final pass so sign up for news updates at
  • Residents are asked to notify the county of any debris blocking drainage infrastructure or roads, through the citizen work request form at
  • Santa Rosa County requires all homeowners associations representing private or gated subdivisions or roads execute a right of entry and hold harmless form before Hurricane Sally debris can be removed from those premises. The right of entry/hold harmless form can be found online ( and should be completed by an authorized representative and emailed to in the county attorney's office before debris haulers will be able to provide services to those neighborhoods. For questions, call the Santa Rosa County attorney's office, 850-983-1857.

Volunteer Needs and Coordination

  • Civic and faith-based groups are needed to help Santa Rosa County residents struggling with manpower needs following Hurricane Sally. Volunteers are needed to cut and remove trees, tarp roofs, clean yards and perform other physical tasks for the county’s more vulnerable citizens. Organizations may register at Registration through Crisis Cleanup is important in ensuring needs can be met without duplication of efforts.
  • Can’t volunteer physically but still want to help? Donate funds to assist Santa Rosa County residents in need through SAFER, (, Santa Rosa County’s Support Alliance for Emergency Readiness, a local organization that serves the unmet needs of county residents during the long-term recovery period following disasters, or through United Way of West Florida by texting 850Relief to 41444 or online at
  • Santa Rosa County residents who need assistance are encouraged to call Crisis Cleanup, 800-451-1954, to make a request for help.

Food Pantries

Small Business Economic Recovery Grant

  • Santa Rosa County has allocated a total of $2.6 million of CARES Act funding to provide grants of up to $20,000 to eligible small businesses. In partnership with the Florida Small Business Development Center, applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis. Visit for more information, eligibility requirements and a list of required documents.

SBA Offers Disaster Assistance to Businesses and Residents
Businesses and residents in the declared area for Hurricane Sally can now apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. 
The disaster declaration covers Bay, Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton counties in Florida, which are eligible for both Physical and Economic Injury Disaster Loans from the SBA.

In accordance with health precautions for COVID-19, the SBA will not establish a field presence to assist survivors. However, SBA will continue to provide customer service and conduct outreach virtually with webinars, skype calls, phone assistance and step-by-step application assistance. The SBA has opened Virtual Disaster Loan Outreach Centers / Virtual Business Recovery Center (VDLOC/VBRC) to help survivors apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via the SBA’s secure website at Virtual customer support representatives are available to help applicants complete the online application during these hours:
