[ARCHIVED] Take the test! Help determine countywide internet access

Businesses and residents are asked to complete a broadband speed test developed by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) to help assess gaps in reliable internet service throughout Santa Rosa County.

DEO recently developed Florida’s Broadband Availability Map and internet speed test to identify and assist in gathering more data about the state’s broadband internet service availability.

Find both the map and speed test at
www.FloridaJobs.org/Broadband or take the speed test now online. Residents are encouraged to complete the test at home and at work. Data collected help with applying for grants or funding that may become available in the future to improve internet service countywide.

"We are currently building out a local technology team to support the state of Florida's newly formed Office of Broadband," said Kyle Holley, outreach and community liaison. "We will be including different sectors from education to agriculture to determine how best we may incentivize the private sector to expand broadband throughout the county."

For more information, contact Kyle Holley, outreach and community liaison, at 983-1828 or kyleh@santarosa.fl.gov.
