The primary goal is to identify “unserved” and underserved” areas of the county to determine a plan for getting better internet services to residents and businesses. Have a person in the household/business who is 18 years or older and makes household/business decisions about internet services complete the survey. All residents/businesses are asked to complete this survey by July 15.
The state of Florida’s Office of Broadband, created in 2020, has asked each county in Florida to complete an assessment of its strengths and weaknesses by interviewing industry sector representatives and residents from unserved and underserved areas.
DEO has developed Florida’s Broadband Availability Map and internet speed test to identify and assist in gathering more data about the state’s broadband internet service availability. Find both the map and speed test at www.FloridaJobs.org/Broadband or take the speed test now online. Residents are encouraged to complete the test at home and at work. Data collected helps with applying for grants or funding that may become available in the future to improve internet service countywide.
