Santa Rosa County Animal Services launches
Fetch A Friend no-contact, socially distanced adoptions

Santa Rosa County Animal Services has launched a new "Fetch A Friend” no-contact adoption program, to help potential adopters find a new pet while maintaining safe social distancing. The process is simple and convenient:
  1. View available animals online.
  2. Complete the online adoption application.
  3. The shelter will call to set up an appointment to:
    • Bring the animal out to your car in the shelter parking lot, or
    • Deliver the animal to your home if you live in Santa Rosa County.
  4. The shelter will call a week later to check on your pet and finalize the adoption.
The Fetch A Friend program will help the shelter find homes for animals during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order. Fewer people leaving their homes means fewer potential adopters visiting the shelter. Shelter population must be kept at a minimum to prepare for potential decreased staffing levels. Fetch A Friend allows for animals to continue to find homes during the COVID crisis, increases lifesaving and reduces number of animals in the shelter.

In addition, the shelter has extended the reduced fees for adoptable pets through the end of April. Cats/kittens are $10 and dogs/puppies are $25. Pets that have completed treatments for heartworms are free. All have been spayed or neutered.
