See something? Say Something!

The Northwest Florida Domestic Security Task Force and the Region One County Public Affairs and Information Officers have established a joint effort to promote the “See Something, Say Something” campaign, a Department of Homeland Security sponsored effort to report suspicious activities and increase security across the country.
 
A recent release of the United States Secret Service report on mass attacks in public spaces indicates a key finding that 66% of attackers exhibited behaviors that elicited concern in other people. The “See Something, Say Something” campaign focuses on helping members of a community recognize the signs of terrorism-related suspicious activity in order to prevent a possible attack.

With COVID-19 and an active hurricane season putting extra stressors on our citizens, educating the public on suspicious activity indicators is essential to protecting our communities from potential threats. The Florida See Say campaign offers the public with several outlets for reporting suspicious activity, which includes a statewide, toll-free phone number (1-855-FLA-SAFE), online submissions at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and submissions via the Florida See Say app (Apple Store/Google Play). Florida’s informed and engaged communities remains one of our greatest assets to identify potential terrorist activity and to keep our communities safe from attacks.
