Santa Rosa County and Miracle League break ground on athletic fields for those with special needs
Every child deserves a chance to play baseball and now that opportunity is coming true for those with special needs in south Santa Rosa County. The Miracle League of Santa Rosa County along with the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners will break ground on athletic fields for individuals with disabilities at 8:30 a.m. on Thurs., Nov. 8 at Tiger Point Park, 1370 Tiger Point Lane in Gulf Breeze.
"This project has been a great partnership between the county, the state and the community," said Commissioner Lane Lynchard, District 5. "The Miracle League is going to be a wonderful addition to the park, not only for the players but also the buddies and other volunteers who get to see the smiles."
The Miracle League of Santa Rosa anticipates the field will be ready sometime in spring of 2019. Funding for the Miracle League Park was provided by Santa Rosa County, the state of Florida, Baskerville-Donovan Inc., Emerald Coast Constructors Inc., IMPACT 100 Pensacola and local contributions.
