Maranantha Way and Chipper Lane
drainage improvement project complete
The Maranatha Way and Chipper Lane drainage improvement project in Pace is now complete. The project increased flood protection for 27 structures
through the installation of drainage inlets, construction of a regional stormwater retention facility, modifications to the existing stormwater pond, and construction of associated pipe network and surface ditches allowing for additional storage.
"I am very excited to see this project completed," said Commission Chairman Sam Parker, District 1. "Thankfully, our local option sales tax has allowed us to complete much needed infrastructure projects like this."
The total construction cost was $1,284,307 of which 75 percent was funded through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). The remainder was paid by the local option sales tax. The project was designed by Baskerville-Donovan, Inc. and construction was undertaken by Pensacola contractor Chavers Construction. For more information, contact Sheila Fitzgerald, 850-981-2016.
